Are You The Lucky Winner of Last Month's Draw?

Nicole Shaw - Tuesday, August 04, 2009

If you are a podiatry patient of ours and you have been to our podiatrists Nicole and Kim for an appointment in the last 8 weeks it's highly likely that you filled out our Patient Satisfaction Survey.  We'd like to thank you for taking the time to tell us what you think about Footprint Podiatry in our short 6 question satisfaction survey.

We've looked at the results of the surveys that we have received so far and 93.7% of respondents rated our patient care and foot care 8 out of 10 or higher! 97% of patient's surveyed said that there was nothing that they didn't like!

We are still collecting survey responses from patients that haven't been to the clinic in the last 2 months, which means that your completed survey will go in the monthly prize draw at the each month for the next 2 months! That means you have two more chances to be the lucky winner of Footprint Podiatry’s Patient Satisfaction Survey Prize Draw

Why Would a Podiatrist Need Ankle Surgery?

Nicole Shaw - Monday, June 01, 2009

You may have noticed that our fantastic Podiatrist,  Kim, has been limping around the clinic for the last year or so.  It's not because she kicked the dog or stood on a pointy stone! She injured herself a while back but had been putting up with the pain, against the better advice of some of us.

You see Kim is an enthusiastic sports person, she loves playing Netball and Cricket, as well as taking her dog Tanna for long walks.  Kim is also a Netball Umpire, so she's been running around the courts a lot.  She didn't want to stop her sports!

Over time she's competed against some tough players and has had her share of hard knocks and falls on the court and the field, as well as taking the occasional tumble over her own feet (it happens to the best of us at the worst of times!!) Kim's body and her legs and feet are just like yours, they need looking after and harsh treatment on the playing field can take its toll on a sports person.

Kim sought the advice of a great podiatrist who then referred her to a Sports Physician who specialises in Sports Injuries (Dr Andrew Potter,  Adelaide Football Club senior medical officer and Australian Olympic Hockey Team doctor). Dr Potter referred Kim to a ankle surgeon in Adelaide and on the 14th of April 2009 Kim  had arthroscopy surgery on her ankle, to remove some excess bone fragments from her ankle.

After a week or so off from work to rest and recover Kim was back at work in the Footprint Podiatry clinic helping patients overcome their foot pain problems.  Her husband Chris drove her to work and she limped into wearing a foot brace to protect her foot and spent most of the day sitting on a stool.

Two weeks after the operation Kim was wearing shoes on both her feet again and driving her self to work!  She still has a barely noticeable limp, which has had patients asking lots of questions. Everything is fine now and she's well on the road to full recovery.
